This 8/2 yarn is made from 60% organic cotton and 40% hemp by Brassard Fils.
Hemp was one of the first plants to be spun into usable fibre around 10,000 years ago. It is considered to be one of the fastest growing plants and needs less water and chemicals than other plants grown for fibre. It is gaining popularity as one of the more 'eco friendly' fibres. This 8/2 yarn is spun from 60% organic cotton and 40% hemp by Brassard Fils. Available in natural undyed only it can be dyed using any dye suitable for cellulose fibres. The natural off white colour makes an ideal neutral background to any other colour. Use in warp and weft or either way with another fibre. Suitable for many uses including table linens, towels, scarves, clothing. Fully interchangeable with the 22/2 cottoline or 8/2 cotton. Also suitable for knitting and crochet and other yarn crafts.
