A rainbow of colours in 20/2Nm spun silk. Hand dyed for us in India in both solid and tie dyed colours. This metric count is slightly thicker than the more widely available 30/2 and 60/2, we think it is a great weight for weaving. It is also suitable for knitting, crochet, lace making, quilting and embroidery. It is hand dyed in small batches, this means that although technically repeatable, no two batches are ever exactly the same. This adds to the beauty of the yarn but it is important to make sure you order sufficient for your project as we cannot guarantee to still have matching stock if you run out. As with many yarns, colour fastness is not guaranteed and the production methods used with this yarn does mean that there may be some colour run from some shades when wet finished. We always suggest wet finishing a sample before embarking on your project to see how the yarn will behave. If you are looking at using it with another yarn for comparison it is approximately equivalent to an 11.2/2 cotton count. This means it weaves to similar setts as 8/2 and 10/2 cotton and Tencel which make great partners for this yarn in either the warp or the weft. Some shades are available on 10g mini spools, these are listed in their own section of the shop.
